第四十六章

When the world possesses Dao,

天下に道あれば、

Riding horses are nonetheless used for manure.
JA
走馬を却けて以て糞す。

When the world is without Dao,
JA
天下に道なければ、
EN
War-horses are bred in the countryside.
JA
戎馬は郊に生ず。
EN
There is no fault greater than the capacity for desire.
JA
咎は欲を得るより大なるはなし。
EN
There is no misfortune greater than not knowing when
JA
禍は足るを知らざるより
EN
you have enough.
JA
大なるはなし。
EN
There is no error greater than desire for gain.
JA
罪は得んと欲するより大なるはなし。
EN
Therefore : knowing the sufficiency of having enough,
JA
故に足るを知るの足るは、
EN
there is always enough!
JA
常に足る。
