EN
You do not have to go out the door

戸を出でずして、

In order to to know the world.
JA
天下を知る。
EN
You do not have to look out the window
JA
牖より窺わずして、
EN
In order to to know the Way of heaven.
JA
天の道を見る。
EN
The farther you go out,
JA
その出ずること弥いよ遠ければ、
EN
You know even less.
JA
その知ること弥いよ少なし。
EN
Thus the sage :
JA
ここをもって聖人は、
EN
Does not travel, yet knows.
JA
行かずして知り、
EN
Does not display himself, yet has a reputation.
JA
見ずして名づけ、
EN
Does not act, yet accomplishes.
JA
為さずして成す。
