第七十六章
EN
The people are born (indeed!) soft and weak.
JA
人の生まるるや柔弱にして、

They die (indeed!) hard and inflexible.
JA
その死するや堅強なり。
EN
The ten thousand creatures, the grass and trees, are born
JA
万物草木の
EN
(indeed!) soft and fragile.
JA
生まるるや柔脆にして、
EN
They die (indeed!) dried and withered.
JA
その死するや枯槁なり。
EN
Therefore : that which is hard and inflexible is a follower
JA
故に堅強なる者は
EN
of death.
JA
死の徒にして、
EN
That which is soft and weak is a follower of life.
JA
柔弱なる者は生の徒なり。
EN
Thus if a weapon is inflexible, the consequence is defeat.
JA
ここを以て兵強ければ則ち勝たず、
EN
If a tree is inflexible, then it snaps.
JA
木強ければ則ち折る。
EN
Inflexible and great dwell below.
JA
堅強なるは下に処り、
EN
Soft and weak dwell above.
JA
柔弱なるは上に処る。
