第二十四章
EN
He who stands on tiptoe does not really stand.
JA
跂つ者は立たず。

He who stands astride can not travel.
JA
跨ぐ者は行かず。

He who displays himself does not have insight.
JA
自ら見す者は明ならず。

He who considers himself correct does not distinguish

自ら是とする者は

JA
彰ならず。
EN
He who boasts about himself is without merit.
JA
自ら伐る者は功なし。
EN
He who brags about himself does not endure.
JA
自ら矜る者は長からず。
EN
He who lives in Dao – Calls these leftover food and unnecessary behavior. Creatures detest them, no matter what. Therefore : he who possesses Dao does not live by them.

その道に在るや、余食贅行と曰う。物あるいはこれを悪む。故に道ある者は処らず。
