EN
Dao creates them,
JA
道はこれを生じ、
EN
De raises them,
JA
徳はこれを畜い、
EN
Things shape them,
JA
物はこれを形づくり、
EN
Circumstances complete them.
JA
勢はこれを成す。
EN
Thus among the ten thousand creatures,
JA
ここを以て万物は、
EN
There are none who do not respect Dao and honor De.
JA
道を尊び徳を貴ばざるはなし。
EN
Respect of Dao,
JA
道の尊きと、
EN
Honor of De –
JA
徳の貴きとは、
EN
Now : there is no one who commands this,
JA
それこれを命ずる者なくして、
EN
Yet it is always naturally so.
JA
常に自ずから然るなり。
EN
Therefore : Dao creates them, De raises them.
JA
故に道はこれを生じ、徳はこれを畜い、
EN
Leads them, nourishes them,
JA
これを長じ、これを育て、
EN
Shelters them, heals them,
JA
これを亭にし、これを毒にし、
EN
Supports them, protects them.
JA
これを養い、これを覆う。
EN
Creating but not possessing,
JA
生じて有せず、
EN
Acting but not concerned with the results,
JA
為して恃まず、
EN
Leading yet not governing –
JA
長じて宰せず、
EN
This is called deep and mysterious De.
JA
これを玄徳と謂う。
