第七十章
EN
My words are very easy to understand,
JA
吾が言は甚だ知り易く、

Very easy to practice.
JA
甚だ行い易し。
EN
But there is no one in the world who can understand them,
JA
されど天下よく知る者なく、
EN
There is no one who can practice them.
JA
よく行う者なし。
EN
My words possess a lineage,
JA
言には宗あり、
EN
My duties possess a ruler.
JA
事には君あり。
EN
Now : only because I am without-knowledge,
JA
それ唯だ無知なり、
EN
Thus I am not understood.
JA
ここを以て我を知らず。
EN
Those who understand me are rare,
JA
我を知る者は希なり、
EN
Consequently I am one who is valued!
JA
則ち我は貴し。
EN
Thus the sage wears coarse cloth, but carries jade in his
JA
ここを以て聖人は褐を被りて
EN
heart.
JA
玉を懐く。
