第七十四章
EN
If the citizens do not fear death,
JA
民、死を畏れざれば、
EN
How can you use death to frighten them?
JA
奈何ぞ死を以てこれを懼れしめんや。
EN
Assuming you could ensure that the citizens always fear
JA
もし民をして常に死を畏れしめ
EN
death,
JA
得るならば、
EN
And I get hold of those who act strange and unusual and
JA
奇を為す者を吾執えて
EN
kill them,
JA
これを殺さば、
EN
Then who would be daring?
JA
孰か敢えてせん。
EN
There will always exist an executioner.
JA
常に殺を司る者ありて殺す。
EN
Now : to take the place of the executioner to do the
JA
それ殺を司る者に代わりて
EN
killing,
JA
殺すは、
EN
This is called taking the place of a great craftsman to carve
JA
これ大匠に代わりて
EN
wood.
JA
斲るなり。
EN
Now : of those who take the place of a great craftsman to
JA
それ大匠に代わりて
EN
carve wood,
JA
斲る者は、
EN
Few will not injure their hand!
JA
その手を傷つけざる者稀なり。
